St. Vincent's Home, a residential treatment center for children and adolescents, is sponsoring a Motorcycle Run on August 19, 2007. The Run will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Humphrey's Building Supply, 590 Main Road, Tiverton, RI and end at St. Vincent's Home, 2425 Highland Avenue, Fall River, MA. The cost is $20 in advance or $25 day of event and $5 for a passenger. Participants will be guests at a cook-out at the conclusion of the Run. Raffle tickets will be sold at St. Vincent's following the Run for prizes donated by area businesses. Trophies will be awarded for favorite bike as judged by the youth of St. Vincent's. All proceeds will benefit the youth of St. Vincent's for extra curricular activities such as uniforms for sports, field trips and class rings for our high school graduates to name a few. Ride leaves Gator’s Pub at 10:30 AM Sharp! Registration is from 8:30 AM – 10:15 AM. WHY: The town of North Smithfield will be holding its first annual Great Pumpkin Festival on September 22, 2007. Funds raised at this event will directly benefit various town wide programs such as Little League, Girl/Boy Scouts, the North Smithfield Public Library, various school and civic organizations or any other town group that participates. The festival will be held at The North Smithfield Elementary School on Saturday, September 22, 2007 where food, arts and crafts, games, a custom car show, live music and more will be held. This ride will directly benefit the North Smithfield Public Library. We are expecting a very large turn out as this will also be advertised in our area newspapers as the date gets closer. Donation: $15.00 Pp, t-shirts will be available while they last. The ride will travel through the northern parts of the state and will conclude at the north smithfield elementary school.
