This is the 8th annual Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally. Discover, as thousands have, the pristine riding areas that northeastern Oregon has to offer. You will arrive in Historic Baker City on Friday June 8th. Baker City's Main Street and the Geiser Grand Hotel harken back to the Gold Rush era - long before traffic and crime invaded our cities. Saturday will be filled with motorcycle rides offering up great places like; the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, Hells Canyon Dam, the Snake River, the Hells Canyon Overlook with the Seven Devils Mountains, the Wallowa Mountains and Eagle Cap Wilderness, Joseph, Oregon with it's bronze art and much more. Saturday evening features the Motorcycle Show on Main Street. This was so popular last year that many classes have been added and additional trophies will be offered. If your bike is unique or just really clean, enter it in the show. You might bring home a trophy! Sunday we will be riding to places like; Hereford, Unity, Sumpter, Granite, Anthony Lakes and North Powder. This is the Ghost Town-Gold Rush ride and you will see the Gold Mines that inspired the movie "Paint Your Wagon" with Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin. Monday is reserved for the ride home. We will be traveling from Halfway, OR to Joseph, or over the North Pine Route and making a 250 mile loop dropping down into Union and coming back over Catherine Creek. We'll be enjoying some of Gary's favorite mountain roads and there will be game stops along the way. We will close the evening back in Halfway with a buffet style dinner by Some Things Made Easy Catering and a video presentation of Gary's life. Gary Grace was an avid motorcycle rider for 43 of his 52 years. He loved the outdoors for hunting, fishing, and riding. Especially his Harley Davidson! Gary was killed in a motorcycle accident in April 2004 while he was on vacation with family and friends going to the Laughlin River Run. A motor vehiclist in a hurry turned left in front of him causing a T-bone accident. Oregon Shooting Star Rally

Come see the stars and meteors at the Oregon Shooting Star Rally on August 11th and 12th, 2007, at the Sherman County Fairgrounds in Moro. A new moon provides a dark night for excellent viewing of the best meteor shower of the year, producing up to 60 shooting stars an hour. Included in the $35/rider - $25 passenger cost is camping for two nights and a pork rib Dutch oven, dinner on Saturday night. The evening's entertainment will be provided by Poker Face from the Columbia Gorge who will play from 9:00 p.m. to midnight, and there will be a beer garden from 7:00 to midnight. Sunday morning there will be a biscuits and gravy breakfast, and also a CMA Church service. The poker run has two routes to choose from, and the best hand will win. New Garmin GPS units will be presented to the rider who has traveled the farthest to the rally, and to the most senior rider. Other events going on in the area the same week-end include Neon Nights in The Dalles, and the Dufur Threshing Bee. The Moro fairgrounds are on US 97, 18 miles south of I/84 and 118 miles north of Bend. Participation is limited to 200 bikes, so register on-line now at.
