The Third Annual Motor Officer Bike Blessing and Rodeo (MOBBAR) will be honoring on & off duty law enforcement officers from Southern New England and beyond Sunday April 10, 2011 at Rendezvous Leather & Accessories, 690 Quaker Highway in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. Officers (including police, fire, etc) are welcome to attend riding civilian or department motorcycles. Event grounds will open to the public at 10 AM with the officer’s procession arriving at 11 AM. The event is rain or shine and family friendly – alcohol is strictly prohibited. The event will include a bike blessing for all uniformed and civilian Law Enforcement Officers in attendance to be performed by members of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, bike games, food, music, a raffle and more. Proceeds will benefit C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc) local New England chapter, a nationally based organization that provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The public is welcomed and encouraged to come in support of these law enforcement officers in recognition of their service and dedication to public safety. Blue Knights MA VI 35th Annual Blessing of the Bikes

The Cape Cod & Islands Chapter of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club (MA VI) announces that its' 35th Annual Blessing of the Bikes will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2011. The Blessing will be held at West Dennis Beach, with the gate opening at 9:30 AM. The on-site Blessing will occur at Noon, so bikes must plan on being there, registered & parked by 11:45 AM. The minimum suggested participation donation is $5.00, with proceeds going to the Blue Knights to be used for charitable purposes; such as our Cape Cod Community College Scholarship, the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund, the American Cancer Society and Blue Knights COPSRUN (assisting surviving family members of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty). Refreshments should be available for purchase and vendors can set-up stands & tables. In past years, up to 1,500 motorcycles traveled from every State in New England to be a part of the Blessing, with an estimated 2,000-2,250 people in attendance. Directions to the Blessing: Take US-6 East to Exit 9A and bear right onto Route 134 South. For a scenic ride, take US-6A East to Route 134 South in East Dennis and continue until you pass US-6. Continue 2 miles to the Route 28 traffic lights, then cross Route 28 onto Swan River Road. At the end of Swan River Road, take a right onto Lower County Road and about 3/4 of a mile later take a left onto Lighthouse Road. When you enter the small rotary circle, the Beach entrance is halfway around on the other side of the circle. This entrance will be for motorcycles only; cars should continue around the circle and enter the parking lot to the left of the snack bar. The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club was formed in the Spring of 1974 in Bangor, Maine, with the MA VI Chapter being formed at the start of 1976. There are presently over 20,000 members in 600 Chapters located in 29 Countries around the world. In the past 20 years alone over $13.6 million in cash, goods & services have been donated to more than 1,700 charities, including Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), Cystic Fibrosis, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE), Make-A-Wish, Toys For Tots and many other worthy local charities.

So, we are holding a Second Ride, as a Fund Raiser for Matt Brown, the Norwood High School Hockey Player injured last season. Currently, Matt is working hard, and making progress. But, the road will be long, and the costs continue. We hope you can take the opportunity to participate in this fun ride, with proceeds going to help Matt and his Family! As I’m sure you are aware, the ongoing support from the area has been fantastic. With many members of the community continuing to support the MattBrown#3 Team! Leaving from the VFW on Dean Street in Norwood, registration starts at 10:30am. A noontime departure is expected. Following the Escorted Ride, we’ll feed you, and provide an afternoon of Entertainment, Raffles, Silent Auction, Mystery Guests and the TABOO B's at Fusion5 in Foxboro! This is a rain, or shine event. Unable to ride, or in case of inclement weather, the Fusion5 Destination Party will be starting at 3pm. Pucino, Special Forces-Green Beret, laid down his life to free the oppressed. The SSG Matthew A. Pucino Memorial Foundation, Ltd. was created to continue the battle by creating a legacy of assistance for our wounded military hero’s - their spirits will live in our heart’s forever!
