My wife is raising money for a 10 year old boy Mike who lives in Fallston, MD, fighting the battle against leukemia. We are doing a poker run and hope to have some fellow bikers join us for some fun. All Bikers Are Invited no matter what you ride. The details follow:
Saturday, April 14, 2007 (raindate April 21) Help raise money for LEUKEMIA by participating in the Bike For Mike Poker Run. The event starts and ends at Bull on the Beach, 2306 E. Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD. Registration: 11am-12:30pm. Donation: $25/bike, $5/passenger. Choppers and sport bikes invited. Ride the 80 mile route at your leisure. Raffles: 50/50 and tickets to win a 50 HDTV tickets or Box. Happy hour food and drinks at Bull on the Beach, Live music. Third Annual Purple Heart Ride

Blue Knights, Maryland IX, is conducting our third annual motorcycle ride for the wounded servicemen and women, who have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan. This ride has been named the Purple Heart Ride.
These brave young men and women are being cared for at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Hospital. Our Police Escorted ride, travels from Sykesville, Maryland, to the Bethesda Naval Hospital. To participate, each rider must donate at least $25 (a greater amount if their heart so dictates). We will be taking these donations to the Bethesda Naval Hospital, where they will be presented to the Armed Forces Foundation, to benefit these Purple Heart recipients.
Registration begins at 7:00 am and continues until 10:00 am when the ride will depart the Freedom Park which is located on Raincliffe Road in Sykesville, Maryland. The ride is rain or shine.

Three day ride through the Virginia Mountains on Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Ride departs from Petroleum Truck Stop Route 95 and Md route 279. First exit to right after Delaware 95 South Toll booth. First truck stop on right. Come early for breakfast; ride departs truck stop promptly at 8 am.
Stay in the same hotel two nights. Tour Skyline going down on Friday and tour the Virginia Highlands and Blue Ridge on Saturday. Tour part of Skyline coming back up on Sunday and run Rte. 301 back to the Elkton, MD area by about 6pm.

5th Annual Kate Koogler Canine Cancer Ride

A motorcycle ride fund raiser for bone cancer research - Motorcycle riders will meet at The Cozy Restaurant, 103 Frederick Road, Thurmont at 10AM and will leave at 11 AM for a beautiful ride over the scenic back roads of Frederick and Washington counties ending at Pen Mar Park near Cascade. This is a rain or shine event and pre registration is recommended. The $35.00 registration fee will include a Kate Ride T-shirt, catered lunch, Live Band Entertainment at the park and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a weekend getaway. Participants are asked to obtain pledges and turn in donations at the park. Prizes will be awarded to the three people with the most money raised in donations. Other great raffle prizes will also be available.
As a result of fundraising efforts over the past 4 years, The Kate Fund has been able to donate $35,000.00 to canine bone cancer research.
