The Poker Run starts at the Lost Dutchman MC Clubhouse in Mesa. Doors open at 8:00am and admission is still only $10.00 per person. Run pins for the first 500 admissions at the Clubhouse . The 85 mile Poker Run route takes you through as much rural area as possible, maintaining the tradition that has been important for years. The final Hand is received at the Rawhide Western Town in south Chandler. The reward for highest hand is pure gold which is probably worth about $600.00 and going up quickly. Spring is in the air and it’s time to open that garage and go have as much fun as possible while still wearing your clothes. If it has been a while since you’ve had such a time, then you haven’t been to a Twisted Whiskers event the last couple of years. This April though, Dutch and his band of misfits are sounding the rally cry once again and inviting everyone on two wheels to join them for their 3rd Annual Sunnyside Up Café “Spring Has Sprung” Motorcycle Poker Run & Bike Show. The event starts with breakfast at the Sunnyside Up Café and ends with lunch at the Players Pub, and in between you will find yourself along the winding, scenic loop through Northeastern Pinal and Southwestern Gila counties. However, if you have been to a Twisted Whiskers event, you know that the ride is the part of the day that passes the time in between the laughs, high jinks, and mischief that tend to ensue. It’s the moments off their bikes that keep riders flocking back to these runs. If your curiosity isn’t peaked enough yet, then maybe the promise of cash prizes, raffle drawings, and trophies for the bike show will entice you to come join in the shenanigans on April 9th, 2011 in Catalina, AZ. Rob Moy Memorial Motorcycle Run

This year’s run features a 198-mile “Scrabble Run” beginning at 8 a.m. at Go AZ Motorcycles in Scottsdale and ending at San Tan Flats in Queen Creek. Along the scenic route, motorcyclists will receive Scrabble letters. At the ending celebration, the motorcyclist with the highest word value wins the Grand Prize- a big screen HD Plasma TV! The fun filled event will include raffle prize drawings, music and much more! Proceeds and donations will support the Gift of Life Lodging program, which provides a complimentary stay to patients undergoing treatment at the Virginia G. Piper Cancer or participating in the Center’s Clinical Trials Program. Gift of Life Lodging is a community partnership between the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center and Country Inn & Suites.
